LAGRANGE, Ga. – Freshman forward
Gabby Worthy (Bremen, Ga.) of the LaGrange College women's soccer team was named the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Rookie of the Week in an announcement by the by the conference on Tuesday.
"First, congratulations to Gabby for being named CCS Rookie of the Week." Head coach
Kaine Baker said of his standout first-year forward. "Gabby has come in and started off her first year with us very well. Her performances have now been rewarded with her first goal which is very well deserved. If she continues to stay hungry for more success, I expect her to be a player who can make a difference in decisive moments for this program."
Worthy scored her first career goal in the 24
th minute of LC's 2-0 win at Centenary College on Sunday, taking a pass from senior forward
Kaia King (Canton, Ga.) and putting it home for the insurance goal.
At press time, Worthy leads the Panthers with four points in seven games.
LaGrange is back on the field on Wednesday when they travel to Albany State University for a 7:00 p.m. game.
