LAGRANGE, Ga. – The LaGrange College women's soccer team lost 1-0 to visiting Albany State University in non-conference action on Wednesday evening at Panther Field in LaGrange, Georgia.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A penalty kick in the 22nd minute gave the Rams a 1-0 lead, that taken by Albany State freshman forward Sinatra Vaughn (Decatur, Ga.). That score would hold up going into halftime.
- With 11:19 to go in the game, LaGrange sophomore midfielder Jordyn Rawlings (Newnan, Ga.) outpaced the Albany State defense and nearly scored the equalizer after beating the keeper. But the shot went just right of the goal post, and the Panthers couldn't find the back of the net by the end of the night.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- LaGrange junior goalkeeper Anna Wright (Sharpsburg, Ga.), last week's CCS Defensive Player of the Week, tallied two saves on the night in the first half. Freshman goalkeeper Carsen Makuch (Marietta, Ga.) played the second half, finishing with three saves.
- Albany State junior goalkeeper Leire Rodriguez Najera (Spain) finished with eight stops for the Rams in the shutout
- Total shots were 10-7 in favor of the Rams.

- LaGrange is back on the field on Saturday when they travel to Piedmont University for the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) quarterfinals. Match time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
