Kaine Baker

Kaine Baker has been the Head Coach of the LaGrange College Women's Soccer Team since the 2024 season.

In his first season at the helm in 2024, Baker and his Panthers posted a 6-9-3 record (3-6-0 Collegiate Conference of the South), securing a conference tournament berth in the process. His squad picked up several notable wins, including a 4-3 shootout victory over NC Wesleyan and a 5-2 rout over rival Huntingdon College.

Baker served as the assistant coach for Ryan Dickson's LC Men's Soccer Team for four seasons, while earning his Juris Doctorate degree from Georgia State University College of Law, which he obtained in 2023.

During his fourth and final season with the men's team, LC went 6-9-1 (3-4-0 CCS), falling in the CCS Quarterfinals in heartbreaking fashion in a 2-1 overtime loss to Berea College.

In his third season (2022), the team won the CCS Regular Season Championship after posting an impressive 11-5-2 (4-0-2 CCS) record.

During his first year as an assistant coach in 2021, the Panthers defeated visiting Berea, 5-1, on Feb. 28, and then ended the season with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Piedmont on March 26 at Panther Field to conclude the spring season. During the fall season, the Panthers went 7-5-1 and finished with a 3-1-1 record in their final five games.

As a player, Baker was a terrific defender for the Panthers from 2016-19, helping them qualify for the USA South Tournament in three straight seasons from 2017-19.

As a senior, Baker appeared in 17 games, making 16 starts, as the 2019 Panthers recorded a program-record 16 USA South points. His defensive prowess was a crucial reason behind LaGrange holding 11 opponents to two or less goals.

During Baker’s junior campaign in 2018, the Panthers finished with 10 wins, the most for the program since the 1993 season and tied for the third most in a single season in program history. The Marietta, Georgia, native appeared in 12 games and made eight starts, scoring his first collegiate goal against Piedmont on Sept. 19, 2018.

During his four-year career, Baker appeared in 43 games and made 24 starts. He earned a bachelor's degree in sports management from LaGrange in 2020.
