LAGRANGE, Ga. – Junior goalkeeper
Anna Wright (Sharpsburg, Ga.) of the LaGrange College women's soccer team has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 26, 2025.
Wright was a standout in net on Monday against Division II Middle Georgia State University, recording nine saves in a hard-fought 2–0 loss to the Lady Knights. Wright's performance kept the Panthers within striking distance throughout the match.
"Congratulations to Anna for getting defensive player of the week!" LaGrange head coach
Kaine Baker said of his veteran netminder. "She's been a great player for the program the last three years, and I couldn't be happier for her getting a bit of well-deserved recognition."
For the season, Wright has started seven matches for the Panthers, posting a 2.12 goals against average with a 0.735 save percentage.
LaGrange is back on the field next Wednesday when they play host to Albany State in a 7:00 p.m. match.
