LAGRANGE, Ga. – Freshman
Ryheem Mighten (Kingston, Jamaica) of the LaGrange College men's track and field team has been awarded the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Track Rookie of the Week award for the week ending April 5
th, 2026 in an announcement by the conference on Tuesday.
Mighten continued his standout freshman season at the Embry-Riddle Running Elements meet, placing ninth in a deep 200-meter dash field of 110 competitors. The freshman clocked a time of 21.39, setting a new LaGrange program record. His performance also ranks first in the CCS this season.
It is the third consecutive week that Mighten has been recognized by the conference. Mighten had previously been awarded the CCS Track Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 22
nd and then was honored as the CCS Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 29th.
LaGrange is back on the track on April 17
th to 18
th when they compete at Georgia Tech Invitational.
