LAGRANGE, Ga. – Freshman
Ryheem Mighten (Kingston, Jamaica) of the LaGrange College men's track and field team has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Track Athlete of the Week award for the week ending March 29
th, 2026, in an announcement by the conference on Tuesday.
Mighten delivered a strong all-around sprint performance at the Emory Thrills in the Hills meet in Atlanta this past weekend, competing across three events. The freshman highlighted his weekend with a first-place finish in the 100 meters, clocking an 11.02 in a field of 57 competitors. He added a seventh-place finish in the 200 meters (21.70) and placed sixth in the 400 meters with a time of 47.90. His 400 meters mark currently ranks first in the CCS this season.
Mighten had previously been recognized as the CCS Track Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 22
nd. He currently holds three LaGrange outdoor school records in the program's inaugural season in 100 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters.
LaGrange is back on the track this weekend when they travel to the Embry-Riddle Classic.
