LAGRANGE, Ga. - The LaGrange College Women's Basketball Team (6-3) heads to Huntingdon College on Saturday (Jan. 4) to take on the Hawks (4-5) in their first conference showdown of the season.

The Matchup
The Panthers are coming off a tough road loss to Division II opponent Georgia College State University on Dec. 18, a game in which they held their own for a majority of the contest before falling behind late in a 78-64 final. Winning both matchups against the Hawks in 2024 by a combined score of 180-121 (+59 differential), LaGrange will look to add another sweep over their rivals out of Montgomery, Al to their new year's resolution in 2025.

As for the Hawks of Huntingdon, back-to-back losses plagued their hopes to finish the 2024 portion of the season on a high note, scoring just 111 points (55.5 per game) in that span. Prior to the two-game skid, however, Huntingdon had won four out of five, beating the Mississippi University for Women twice and picking up big wins over Berry College and Hendrix College. They will be sure to have their sights locked on returning to their winning ways on Saturday as they host the Panthers for their first conference matchup of the season.

Players to Watch
LC will look for production from top three-point shooter Britney Chavez, who leads the team with 19 on the season so far. The senior out of Birmingham, Al has also been one of the team's most dominant shooters from behind the free throw line, with a near-perfect .900 free throw percentage.

Kinstin Davis has been the Hawks' top scorer this season, racking up 127 points on the year with 14.2 points per game. A dynamic all-around player, the senior guard from Mobile, Al also leads the team with 21 steals, in addition to 47 rebounds (37 defensive) and 20 assists.
