LAGRANGE, Ga. –
Amanda Mclendon, a LaGrange Class of 2026 graduate and a senior power forward from the 2025-2026 LaGrange women's basketball team, has been formally announced as a nominee for the prestigious Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Woman of the Year award.
This award recognizes the top female student-athlete for their athletic, academic, service, and leadership involvement during the academic year.
Mclendon, a native of Orlando, Florida, had a truly remarkable collegiate career with the Panthers, playing in 91 games over four seasons and setting LaGrange school records for rebounds (764), blocks (108) and double-doubles (24).
Mclendon's run culminated in a historic 2025-2026 season that saw her lead the Panthers to their first CCS Conference Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The senior forward was voted All-CCS First Team honors as well as being named to the CCS All-Tournament team.
In the classroom, Mclendon graduated from LaGrange in May with a degree in Elementary Education.

She has participated in numerous service initiatives, including Build the Beds for Troup County, volunteering at Vernon Woods Assisted Living where she spent time playing bingo with senior residents, participating in the Domestic Violence Candle Vigil, supporting Harmony House, feeding the homeless through community outreach efforts, serving at Our Daily Bread, and volunteering as Pouncer, the LaGrange College mascot, at various campus events. Amanda embraces every opportunity to make a positive impact and consistently demonstrates compassion, humility, and servant leadership."
The winner for the CCS Woman of the Year award will be announced on Thursday.
