The Matchup
The Panthers are coming off a tough loss on the road Wednesday (Oct. 23) against Piedmont University, a game in which they had the opportunity to punch their ticket to the post-season, but were instead punched in the gut in a 4-0 final. They look to redeem themselves Saturday against a Scotties team that they have bested all four times this decade by a dominant combined score of 15-1.
As for Agnes Scott, back-to-back losses has them searching for a major upset win to end their season on a strong note. Historically they have dominated LC, posting a 13-5-5 record since the two first met in 2008. They will need to draw very deep into that history, however, in order to edge the host Panthers, who have no intention of making their guests' visit to Panther Field a pleasant one Saturday.
Players to Watch
CCS Player of The Week,
Kaia King, will be a major weapon in the Panthers' arsenal. The junior Canton, Ga native has a team-best 11 goals and two assists in 1,200 minutes played this year and will look to add to those numbers in a big way against Agnes Scott.
As for the Scotties, they will look to their top playmaker, Iris Ray, who leads the team with nine shots on goal, four assists and a goal on the season. The junior midfielder has been a major workhorse for AS this season, playing all 90 minutes in all but two matches this season.
