Panthers head to Jackson for CCS matchup

Following a 8-0 victory over Wesleyan College (Oct. 1), LC Women's Soccer looks to string together back-to-back wins for the first time this season as they prepare to face Belhaven University this Saturday (Oct. 5) at 6 p.m.

The Teams
The Panthers improved to 3-4-3 (1-1 CCS) following a shutout win against WC. Both Kaia King and Briana Suarez knocked in three goals, securing King's second hat trick of the season. Through 10 games, she has tallied a team-high seven goals off of 32 shots, tying her single-season goal record (2022). Cassidy Abbott and Kendall Lewis split time in goal against the Wolves. Abbott finished with two saves and Lewis grabbed one. Expect Anna Wright to make her return to the pitch for this weekend's game since she has spent the majority of the season serving as the LC goalkeeper. Through eight games, the sophomore holds a 2-3-2 W/L/T record and a career-high .814 save percentage.

The Blazers of Belhaven are currently 6-3 (1-1 CCS) thanks to a bounce back 7-0 win they recently secured over Huntingdon College (Oct. 1). The team has found the majority of their success at home, holding a 5-1 record when they play at the Belhaven Bowl Stadium. Nneka Udeh leads the team with eight points off of four goals. Through seven games, Julianne Wilson has a 4-3 record and a .756 save percentage.

Players to watch
The Blazers have outscored opponents 28-10 and outshot them 191-73, so the player to watch is Anna Wright. Expect her to get into the action early and often against the Blazing BU offense.
