Panthers host Huntingdon College in CCS matchup

Following a two-game losing skid, the LC Women's Soccer Team looks to bounce back with a win as the Panthers host Huntingdon College this Tuesday (Oct. 15) at 7 p.m.

The Teams
The Panthers' record dropped to 4-7-3 (1-4 CCS) after they fell this past week at home to Asbury University (Oct. 10) and Maryville College (Oct. 12). In those two defeats, LC goalkeeper Anna Wright made a whopping 24 saves, which is just under 28% of her total season save tally (87). Through her 11 appearances, the sophomore posts a solid .784 save percentage. Junior forward Kaia King leads the team with 19 points off of nine goals and one assist. Her sole assist came from an impressive 25-yard cross that found Kendyl Anderson in front of the AU net, leading to the Panthers' only goal against the Eagles.

The Hawks are currently 3-6-2 (1-3-1 CCS) following a 2-2 tie with Asbury University (Oct. 12). Junior Caroline Masker and sophomore Libby Williams have split minutes in goal for the Hawks, each seeing the field eight times this year. While Masker has secured one more win, posting an overall record of 2-3-1, Williams holds a slightly higher save percentage with .722 to the junior's .677. Through 11 games, freshman forward Shaylinn McFarland leads the Hawks with 19 points off of seven goals and five assists.

Panthers to Watch
Following last week's two tough home losses, pay attention to how LC as a unit kicks off this CCS match. If the Panthers start the home contest with high but controlled energy, the team can secure a conference win over the Hawks.
