The LaGrange College Panthers Women's Soccer Team (4-6-3) is set to host one of their biggest matches of the season Saturday (Oct. 12) as they take on the Maryville Scots (7-1-4) at home.
The Matchup
The Panthers are coming off a heartbreaking loss Wednesday (Oct. 9) to the Asbury Eagles, a game in which they led 1-0 for over 45 minutes of play, but could not withstand a late Eagles rally to drop the match 3-1 at Panther Field. They will have their hands full against a very stout Scots squad, who have been able to best the host Panthers 19 of the last 20 meetings, a series that has yet to see a LaGrange College victory. The stage is set, however, for the Panthers bring home a season-defining victory and tread forward into their 2024 campaign with even greater confidence.
As for the visiting Scots of Maryville, nine straight matches without a loss offers them an incredible sense of confidence heading to this match as they boast a 7-0-2 record in that span. They will have to fight tooth and nail in order to make it 10, however, as they do battle with a LaGrange squad that plays some of the most physical soccer in the entire conference.
