Women's Soccer: Panthers lose on the road to Birmingham–Southern

Box Score

The LaGrange College Women's Soccer team lost on the road Tuesday to Birmingham-Southern 3-0, ending a five-game unbeaten streak.

Panther forward Kaia King got a shot on goal just 10 minutes into the game, but it was saved by BSC. Five minutes later, Birmingham-Southern scored to make it 1-0.

The next 25 minutes didn't see much action near the goal, as Makenzi Maltezo got a shot on goal with 10 minutes left in the half. Before the break, BSC tacked on another goal to make it 2-0.

The second half started with another BSC goal 11 minutes in to make it 3-0. The Panthers got shots on goal in the rest of the half, but were all saved; so, the score stayed there.

The Panthers (4-2-2) were outshot 17-10 but put up eight of those shots in the second half, tying BSC. LC put four shots on goal on the night, with one from King, Maltezo, Kirsten Captino, and defender Jordan Alexis. Leila Moss picked up six saves on the night.

LC will be back home on Saturday to face Agnes Scott in a conference match at 11 a.m. to wrap up the week of competition.
