Box Score The LaGrange College women's soccer team suffered a 9-0 loss to an elite Maryville team Sunday at Panther Field, as the Scots received goals from nine different players.
Junior forward Zoe Watts finished with a team-high three shots for the Panthers (1-1 USA South), putting two on net. Freshman goalkeeper Leila Moss make her collegiate debut, turning away 5-of-6 shots in 38 minutes, 22 seconds of action in the second half. Freshman midfielder Leia Avery brought a great deal of energy off LC's bench and competed for every 50-50 ball.
For the Scots (5-0, 3-0 USA South), Taylor Frizen finished with a goal and two assists, while Lexie Hill tallied one goal and one assist. Abbey Coleman (4-0) earned the win in net.
The Panthers opened their season with a 3-1 triumph over Berea on Feb. 13 at Callaway Stadium. Junior captain Sydney Dailey registered a goal and an assist, while freshman Anna Brown recorded her first collegiate goal. Senior Taylor Hamm posted her first college game-winner, scoring directly off a corner kick.
The Panthers will be back in action Wednesday at 2 p.m. against Piedmont in Demorest, Georgia.
