Box Score Senior goalkeeper Maurie White made a game-high 11 saves for the LaGrange College women's soccer team during a 2-0 USA South setback to Piedmont Saturday on Panther Field.
White stopped double-digit shots for the second time this season and the third time in her collegiate career. Sophomore forward Erica Bower led the Panthers (2-5-0, 1-3-0 USA South) in total shots (4) and shots on goal (2).
Kaylee King scored the game-winner for the Lions (5-3-3, 2-1-0) 55 seconds into the first half on a shot from beyond the 18-yard box from the left attacking side. Jade Edwards found the back of the net in the 47th minute, giving Piedmont a two-goal advantage.
The Lions held a 19-11 lead in total shots and a 13-5 advantage in shots on goal. Piedmont led the corner-kicks statistic, 4-0. Sophomore midfielder Lauren Williamson and freshman midfielder Briana Suarez combined for five shots and two on net.
The Panthers will compete against Huntingdon during a USA South game Wednesday at 7 p.m. Eastern Time in Montgomery, Alabama.
