Box Score MACON, Ga. - Sophomore forward Erica Bower of the LaGrange College women's soccer team buried the game-winner with 1:27 remaining in the first half Wednesday evening during a 1-0 USA South victory at Wesleyan.
The game-winning tally was the first of Bower's LC career. She ranks second on the Panthers (4-5-1, 2-3-1 USA South) with five goals on the season. LaGrange has won back-to-back games against the Wolves (0-10-2, 0-5-1), as the Panthers prevailed, 5-0, in season-ending action at Panther Field on April 5.
Sophomore goalkeeper Leila Moss (2-2-1) earned her first individual shutout of the season and second of her career, stopping four shots. Goalkeeper Angel Lockett made a game-high 10 saves for the Wolves.
LaGrange held a 25-9 advantage in shots, including an 11-4 lead in shots on goal. LaGrange attempted five corner kicks, while Wesleyan was awarded two. Freshman midfielder Briana Suarez, senior midfielder Sydney Dailey and Bower led the Panther offensive attack with a combined 15 shots and seven on net.
The top-five teams from the West Division will qualify for the USA South Tournament. LC is currently in sixth with seven points and two conference games remaining.
The Panthers will play at USA South-foe Berea Saturday at 1 p.m.
