Women's Soccer: Panthers blank North Carolina Wesleyan 2-0

Box Score

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - LaGrange snapped a five-match losing skid with a 2-0 win over North Carolina Wesleyan on Sunday. The Panther upped their season record to 8-9-2 and USA South record to 3-6-2.

The win over the Bishops, coupled with Ferrum's loss to Meredith, catapulted the Panthers into the eighth and final playoff slot in the conference standings. The Panthers can clinch the playoff spot Wednesday in their final regular season match at Huntingdon.

The Panthers did all of their scoring in a 10-minute frame spanning the first and second half. Brittany Gray scored unassisted two minutes before halftime for the first goal. Seven minutes into the second half, Elise Hopson gave the Panthers a 2-0 cushion with an assist from Rebecca Rensenhouse.

Chelsea Totaro got the win in goal for the Panthers. She had to face only six shots and made three saves.
