LAGRANGE, Ga. – Freshman centerfielder
Tanner Morneau (Marietta, Ga.) of the LaGrange College baseball team has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 19
th, 2026 in an announcement by the conference on Monday.
Morneau played a key role in the Panthers' three-game sweep over 14
th-ranked Piedmont University last weekend as the freshman batted .533 (8-for-15), scoring six runs while driving in six more. Morneau recorded a double and a triple, drew two walks, and added a stolen base, while also finishing the week with a perfect fielding percentage in center field.
For the season, Morneau is hitting .410 with 32 hits and 23 RBI in 19 games.
He is the third Panther to earn CCS Rookie of the Week honors this season. Freshman second baseman
Collin McGhee (Ball Ground, Ga.) was recognized twice earlier this season while freshman outfielder
Ben Edge (Newnan, Ga.) took home the award for week ending March 8
th.
Having battled their way back in contention in the CCS standings, LaGrange will conclude their regular season with a three-game series against Maryville College beginning on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
