LAGRANGE, Ga. – After a dominant performance at North Carolina Wesleyan University on Saturday, senior pitcher Trystin Merson (Dallas, Ga.) of the LaGrange College baseball team was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for the week ending March 1, 2026 (Week 3) in an announcement by the website on Wednesday morning.

Merson dominated the Battling Bishops, setting a LaGrange school record with 17 strikeouts in a 4-1 win. Merson's performance tied him for the most K's in a game this season for all of Division III. The senior picked up the win, allowing just one earned run in eight and one-third innings in a 4-1 Panthers victory.

Merson is the first Panther to earn D3baseball.com Team of the Week accolades since teammate and senior Colin Jones (Duluth, Ga.) was recognized for Week 5 of last season.

The Panthers are back on the field on Friday when they travel to Oglethorpe University for a 3:00 p.m. game.
