LaGrange Athletics for Weekend of March 27th – March 29th

LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange College athletics looks forward to an eventful weekend from March 27th to March 29th, both at home and on the road.

Men's Lacrosse

The Panthers of the LaGrange College men's lacrosse team (0-7, 0-3 USA South) face perhaps their biggest game of the season on Saturday when they play host to the Tornados of Brevard College (0-11, 0-3 USA South) in conference action at 4:00 p.m. at Callaway Stadium.

Nicholas Murciano leads the team with 20 goals while senior Tyler Abrams has posted nine goals and nine assists. Goalkeeper Nick Mann is currently ranked eighth in the nation in saves per game.

They'll face a Brevard team led by Gage Khayat who has scored 19 goals with eight assists through eleven games.

Beach Volleyball

The Panthers of the LaGrange College beach volleyball team (6-20) play host to the Wolves of Wesleyan College on Saturday at the LC Beach Complex in a double-header. The first match begins at 1:00 p.m.

The Panthers are coming off their biggest win in school history on Wednesday, when they bested Truett-McConnell in the second end of a double-header in their first home match of the season.

LaGrange lineup includes Julia Damico and Alex Krabs in the first position, Isabella Zentkovich & Kaitlyn Smith are in second, with Akajah Burton & Jasmine Gross and Kaitlin Gilchrist & Danika Durham in fourth.

Men's & Women's Tennis

The Panthers of the LaGrange men's and women's tennis teams host Johnson & Wales University (North Carolina) on Friday and Maryville College on Sunday.

The men's team (6-4, 0-1 CCS) are coming off a narrow 3-4 loss to Brevard College last Sunday.

The women's team (6-5, 0-2 CCS) came up just short at Agnes Scott this past Monday in their last match.

Baseball
The Panthers of the LaGrange College baseball team (13-11, 2-4 CCS) travels to Covenant College this weekend for a three game CCS series against Scots (9-13, 2-4 CCS).

Colin Jones has provided the pop to the LaGrange lineup, hitting .313 / .518 / .450 with 11 doubles, two home runs and 32 RBI. Catcher Nicholas Ford has emerged as a force with a 1.002 OPS. Collin McGhee is at lead-off with a .349 batting average and a team-high 37 hits. Jorge Fragoso is coming off a breakout week where he earned CCS Player of the Week honors.

The Scotties are led by Daniel Counts, hitting .333 with four home runs and 18 RBI.

First pitch of game one is on Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.

Softball

The Panthers of the LaGrange College softball team (7-17, 2-2 CCS) travels to Agnes Scott College on Saturday for a 12:00 p.m. double-header against the Scotties.

Claire Chamberlain is leading the team in her senior season, hitting .320 while pitching 55 innings thus far. Jenna Yeary leads the pitching staff with a 3.00 ERA and a 4-6 record.
Track & Field

The Panthers of the LaGrange College track and field program travel to the Emory Thrills in the Hills competition in Atlanta for a three-day event. They will be led by Ryheem Mighten, who earlier this week was named the CCS Rookie of the Week for men's track events.
