LAGRANGE, Ga. – Freshman second baseman Collin McGhee (Ball Ground, Ga.) of the LaGrange College baseball team has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Rookie of the Week for the week ending February 8, 2026 in an announcement by the conference on Monday.

McGhee made an immediate impact in his first week of collegiate action, helping LaGrange post a 3–0 record at the Firehouse Classic hosted by Huntingdon College on Friday and Saturday. The rookie second baseman hit .571 on the weekend, collecting seven hits while driving in six runs. He also showcased his speed on the basepaths, swiping four stolen bases as the Panthers picked up wins over Schreiner and Berea.

At press time, McGhee ranks eighth in the entire nation in hits while the Panthers ranked second among all teams in stolen bases with 16 as well as eighth in scoring with 9.7 runs per game.

LaGrange is back on the field on Friday when they host Milikin University in their home opener. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
