Women’s Basketball: Third CCS Player of the Week Award for Battle

LAGRANGE, Ga. – Senior guard Laila Battle (Smyrna, Ga.) of the LaGrange College women's basketball team has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Player of the Week for the week ending February 9th, 2026, in an announcement by the conference on Monday.

Battle led LaGrange through a three-game stretch in conference play, averaging 22.3 points per game as the Panthers posted a 2–1 record on the week. The senior guard opened with a strong showing in a win over Wesleyan on Tuesday before continuing to pace the offense in a 70–60 loss against Piedmont on Friday. Battle capped the week with a standout performance, erupting for 35 points in a 76–74 victory over Asbury. She also contributed on the defensive end, averaging 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game for the week.
It is Battle's third CCS Player of the Week award this season. She was previously recognized for the weeks ending November 16th and January 25th.  

The Panthers stand alone atop the conference standings with a 10-2 record in league play.

LaGrange is back on the court on Tuesday when they play host to Huntingon College in a 4:00 p.m. game.
