LAGRANGE, Ga. - The LaGrange College Baseball Team (13-13, 5-1 Collegiate Conference of the South) is set to host rivals Belhaven University (18-9, 6-3 CCS) at home this weekend (Apr. 4-5) for a three-game series at Cleaveland Field.

The Matchup
This series marks the first time the two teams have met since the semifinal round of last season's conference postseason tournament. The game not only saw a major upset victory for LaGrange, but featured one of the most iconic moments in LC Baseball history as Panther great, Joe Ruth, delivered a grand slam to seal the win and propel his team to the CCS finals.

This season, LaGrange brings in a younger group with a solid core of veterans throughout the lineup. The Panthers lead the entire conference in runs scored with 246, good for 9.4 runs per game. Their .488 slugging percentage and 248 RBI's also stand as the best in the CCS, with the chance to cement their offensive prowess against a team that similarly holds impressive numbers in the aforementioned statistical categories in Belhaven.

As for the Blazers, they have proven to be one of the more stout defensive units in the conference. They currently hold an impressive team ERA of 3.47, allowing only 90 earned runs this season in contrast to LC's 159. As a team, they average 6.7 strikeouts per game, good for one of the best in the entire conference. After besting the Panthers in four out of the five matchups last season, the Blazers will certainly aim to return to their winning ways as they look to disrupt the explosive offense of LaGrange.

Players to Watch
Adam Dorn received the team's nomination this past week for conference player of the week. In 17 at-bats, the Cherokee High School product amassed nine hits for three RBI's, good for a batting average of .550 and a .882 slugging percentage with three doubles, a home run and two walks as well.

The Panthers will need to keep tabs on Belhaven's Hunter Harrell. The senior out of Zachary, La leads the Blazers with a .421 batting average, driving in 18 runs and laying down four doubles in 22 games played this season.

Where to Watch
Game one of this weekend's series is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, with games two and three to be played the following day in doubleheader fashion starting at 2 p.m. Saturday's contests will feature the team's LC Baseball Alumni Day celebration. The games will be held at Cleaveland Field at Williamson Stadium with links to stream the games and live stats found by clicking here.
