Panthers prepare for first conference series of 2025 at Asbury

LAGRANGE, Ga. - LC Baseball (8-7) hits the road today (Mar. 13) to take on Asbury University (3-6) in Wilmore, Ky for the two schools' first CCS series of the 2025 campaign, the Eagles' first in school history.

The Matchup
The Panthers come into this series after splitting a pair of games this past weekend (Mar. 7-8), winning 8-2 on Friday against Berry College and dropping Saturday's contest to Marietta College by a final of 5-3. Friday's victory marked Panther head coach David Kelton's 300th-career win since taking over the helm for LC back in 2014.

LaGrange leads all CCS teams with 176 hits so far this season. The Panthers are also the conference's best in double-plays, notching 17 on the year thus far. With the host Eagles sitting at the bottom of each statistical category, LC will certainly aim to handle business as they welcome AU to the world of CCS Baseball.

Players to Watch
Noah Preuer earned the team's conference player of the week nomination this past week, going 4-6 with a pair of RBI's and a double this past weekend against Berry and Marietta College.

As for the Eagles, they will look to one of their top guys in Aaron Beaman. The sophomore Franklin, Tn native holds an impressive .407 batting average with a 1.124 OPS, knocking down 11 hits (four doubles) for four RBI's in the team's first nine games this season.

Where to Watch
Game one is scheduled for today (Mar. 13) at 6 p.m. with games two and three to follow tomorrow (Mar. 14) in doubleheader action starting at 3:30 p.m. The series will be played at Asbury University's Zweifel Baseball Field with links to stream the contests and live stats that can be found by clicking here.
