Top-ranked Hawks secures wins over LC

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LC Softball dropped a pair of games, 11-0 and 7-1, to #11 Huntingdon College (April 9).

Game one details
The Hawks put points on the board early and often. Claire Chamberlain started on the mound today. She was relieved by Jenna Yeary during the second inning. Chamberlain finished with five hits and runs allowed. Yeary pitched in one inning, allowing six runs off of three hits. She rotated out for Maddie Chauvin in the third. The Hawks at this point held a 11-0 lead. They would win 11-0 through five innings.

Game two details
Katelyn Minnihan started game two on the LC mound. After three innings, the Hawks held a tight 2-0 lead. The Panthers looked locked in from the very start of the second game. LC was making solid fielding plays while limiting errors. During the fourth, Alexa Gonzalez crushed a homer, cutting the Hawks lead to 2-1. HC responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning. During the fifth, the Hawks extended their lead to 7-1. In that inning, Claire Chamberlain came back out to pitch. Minnihan finished with seven allowed runs on nine hits. HC held on to win 7-1. Chamberlain prevented the Hawks from getting a hit in game two
