Panthers Baseball drops game one to the Lions

Box Score LC Baseball fell 11-0 to the Lions of Piedmont University (April 19). The series closes out with a home doubleheader tomorrow at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Both of these games will be streaming live here. 

Game details
Dalton Brooks started for the Panthers in tonight's game against the Lions. In just over 45 innings pitched this season, the senior from Sharpsburg, Ga. has posted an outstanding 2.36 ERA and a 6-1 W/L record. During the first inning, the Lions jumped out to a 2-0 lead when a bad throw on an RBI single allowed two runners to score. In the top of the fifth, Dalton Brooks got the crowd on their feet after he picked off the Lions base runner at second. During the fifth inning, PU extended their lead to 4-0 on a well-placed hit down the right field line. Halfway through the sixth, Brooks was relieved on the mound by Caden Hare. Still in the sixth, a bad LC throw to first and then a passed ball at the plate allowed two Lions to score. PU ended the inning up 9-0 after adding another pair of runs on two RBIs. LC dipped back into the bullpen and rotated Hare out for Hunter Garcia in the seventh. The Lions would win 11-0 through seven innings.

Panther pitchers
In a little more than six innings pitched, senior Dalton Brooks threw four strikeouts and allowed four runs off of five hits.
Junior Caden Hare threw in one inning tonight. Hare finished with one strikeout and allowed three runs off of three hits.
Senior Hunter Garcia came to start the seventh inning tonight. Garcia allowed two runs off of two hits.
