Nick Morgan started on the mound for LC tonight. In just over 11 innings pitched this season, the junior has a 5.56 ERA and eight strikeouts. In the first inning, the Panthers jumped out to a 5-0 lead. This was thanks to a pair of RBIs by
Joe Ruth and
Jorge Fragoso, and a three-run homer by
David Smigelski. During the third, LC added another run when
Coy Phillips crushed the second Panther homer run of the day. The Vikings stayed scoreless until they hit three RBIs in the fourth, cutting the LC lead to 6-4. Prior to the fourth score, Coy Phillys rotated out for
Jack Richards. Still in the fourth, the Vikings scored two more to tie the game up. BC took a 7-6 lead in the following inning. During the sixth,
Eli Folds relieved Richards on the mound. The Panthers' hitting woes continued through the seventh. After not scoring in the last four innings,
Adam Dorn put the Panthers ahead 8-7 after he jacked a two-run homer in the eighth. Despite already being up one, the Panthers wanted more. In the ninth, LC scored two runs off of a
Joe Ruth double to left field. This put a stamp on the 10-7 Panther win over the team up north.
Joe Ruth added four more runs tonight, bringing his total to 338 (NCAA DIII record)

Coy Phillips was the first Panther pitcher today. In a little more than three innings, he threw a strikeout and allowed four runs off of seven hits.
In 1.2 innings pitched, senior
Jack Richards allowed two runs off of three hits. He also struck out one batter.
Sophomore
Eli Folds shined tonight. Folds finished with five strikeouts and only allowed three hits.
