Game one details
Jenna Yeary was the first Panther pitcher today. In 40 innings pitched this season, Yeary sits with a 5.89 ERA. In the top of the first,
Zoe Veres put the Panthers on the board with an RBI single. In the second, Yeary was relieved by
Claire Chamberlain. The score stayed at 1-0 until Chamberlain hit an RBI single in the third. LC extended their lead to 4-0 off of a pair of RBIs by
Kenzie Hornsby and
Abby Vanhoose. The third ended with the Panthers up 4-1 after MUW scored in the bottom of the inning. During the fourth, LC scored two more runs to extend their lead to 6-1. The first run happened when a MUW throwing error allowed
Kelsea Moody to walk home. The second point came from a
Zoe Veres RBI (second of the game for her). Still in the fourth, MUW scored two runs, cutting the Panthers lead to 6-3. LC responded with three runs during the sixth inning on a bad MUW throwing error. The Panthers held on to win 9-3.
Game two details
Maddie Chauvin started on the mound for the Panthers in game two. In 20 innings pitched, Chauvin has a 6.89 ERA. In the first inning, MUW jumped out to a 2-0 lead. During the third inning, LC tied the game at 2-2 after MUW made back-to-back errors. The Owls responded by jumping out to a 7-2 lead over the next two innings. During the fifth, Chauvin was relieved on the mound by
Kelsea Moody. In the bottom of the seventh, Moody drove in a Panther on a RBI single. Sadly, the Owls went on to win 8-3.
