Dalton Brooks started on the mound for LC tonight. In just over 26 innings pitched this season, he has a 2.70 ERA. In the bottom of the first, the Panthers jumped out to a 1-0 lead thanks to an RBI single by designated hitter
Jorge Fragoso.
Jackson McElvy extended the LC lead to 2-0 on an excellent hit over the first baseman's head, allowing Gabe Pallo to make it home. During the third inning, Berea tied the game at 2-2 on a pair of RBIs. In the following inning, LC reestablished a lead thanks to a
Rhett Mixon RBI to center. In the fifth, it looked like the visitors were going to add more points when they found themselves with two men on and one out. The Panthers ended the inning on a textbook 6-4-3 double play. Still in the fifth,
Brody Hollingsworth crushed a pitch to the center field wall, resulting in an RBI double.
Curt Bonner added to the Panthers scoring run after he hit a two-run RBI.
Rhett Mixon then hit a two-run RBI of his own to put the Panthers up 8-2. In the sixth,
Curt Bonner hit his second RBI single of the night. Still in the sixth,
Fletcher Hislop annihilated the ball for a two-run RBI triple. Going into the seventh, LC led 13-2 after
Colby Zinser hit a two-run RBI to close out the previous inning.
Caden Hare relieved Brooks on the mound. The Panthers held on to win 13-3 through seven innings.
