By Joshua J. Darling, Sports Information Director

LAGRANGE, Ga. – No. 2/8 LaGrange (8-4, 0-0 CCS) baseball heads to the Volunteer State for games against Centenary (5-3, 0-0 SCAC), Westfield (0-1, 0-0 MASCAC) and Chicago (2-2, 0-0 MWC) from March 10-12. Hosted by Rhodes, each of those games will be played in Millington, Tennessee.

The Panthers will open against Centenary at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 10 before taking on WSU at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 11 and UChicago at 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 12. Each will be played at the USA Stadium Complex.

LC comes in having won three of their four games this past week as they defeated Adrian (2/28) by a 12-3 score before taking two of three from previously 8-1 North Carolina Wesleyan. After falling 12-3 to begin that series they walked off a 4-3 victory in the nightcap on March 4 and posted a 15-9 decision in the finale on March 5. Most recently they fell 10-9 in a barnburner with Wittenberg (3/6).

The Gents of Centenary come in having won their last two, taking the final game of a three-game series vs. Alma (11-2 on 3/4) and 6-2 at LeTourneau (3/7) while Westfield dropped their season opener 16-2 at Mitchell (3/7). Chicago enters the weekend at 2-2 having split a four-game set with Case Western Reserve, dropping the opener 10-1 on February 24 and finale 5-3 on February 26 with a 7-5 and 6-1 doubleheader sweep on February 25.

SERIES HISTORY

LaGrange has played just a combined six game against the weekend's three opponents, going 3-0 over Chicago and Centenary (La.). The Panthers have never faced Massachusetts-based Westfield. They posted wins of 7-3, 9-7 and 14-9 against CCoL from May 20-21 in Georgia while earning a 9-2 win in 2015 against the Maroons and a 4-3 and 12-4 doubleheader victory in 2016.
