JACKSON, Miss. - Berry edged LaGrange 2-1 on the final day of the Millsaps College Tournament at Smith-Wills Stadium. The Panthers (6-5) went 1-2 in the tournament.

Berry (3-1) scored a run each in the first two innings to lead 2-0. The Panthers cut the deficit in half in the fifth inning. Rhett Mixon scored on an error to make it 2-1. Judd Moore reached on a two-out single in the ninth but was caught stealing to end the game. Jackson Patrick had two of the Panthers' six hits.

Austin Fain (2-1) took the loss. Fain pitched 5-2/3 innings, allowing both runs, and only one was earned. Gibson Bittner threw two scoreless innings, and Zach English did not allow a run in 1-1/3 innings.

The Panthers play at Birmingham-Southern on Tuesday.
