JACKSON, Miss. - LaGrange went on the road for the first time this season, taking on the Majors of Millsaps. The Majors held off the Panthers' fourth quarter rally for a 28-24 win.

Junior quarterback Graham Craig threw for 314 yards and two touchdowns for the Panthers. Freshman receiver Ervens Oge caught five passes for 132 yards, the second most by a Panther in a game. Oge also recovered a fumble in the end zone for the Panthers' first score.

The Panther defense forced four Millsaps turnovers in the game. Connor McNamee had seven tackles and recovered a fumble. Brandon Penn had six tackles and one of the two interceptions forced by the Panthers.

The Panthers scored on their first possesion of the game to take a 7-0 lead. Craig hooked up with running back Breland Dillon for a 29-yard completion on a third-and-20 to the Majors' 6-yard line. Marquius Young fumbled on the next play, but Oge recovered the ball in the end zone for the touchdown.

Millsaps scored the next three touchdowns to take a 21-7 halftime lead. Quarterback Zak Thrasher accounted for all three scores with touchdown passes of 7, 7 and 38 yards.

The Panthers controlled the third quarter to cut the Majors' lead to a touchdown. Backed up at their own 5, Craig and Oge got the Panthers out of the hole with a 55-yard completion to the Millsaps 40.

Two plays later, Craig hit Griffin Roelle for a 30-yard score. Will Jeffcoat's extral point made it a 21-14 game.

Millsaps finished a 56-yard drive to go up 28-14 early in the fourth quarter. The Panthers answered with a drive ending in a field goal from Jeffcoat.

Once again, Craig and Oge connected with a 57-yard pass play to the Majors' 28. When the drive stalled, Jeffcoat hit from 30 yards out to make it 28-17.

The Panthers drew within four points with a quick four-play 65-yard drive. Craig threw 25 yards to Marsalis Jackson to keep the drive going on a third down play. He came back on the next play to hit Korey Schick on a 38-yard touchdown to make it 28-24 with seven minutes left.

The Panthers threatened in the final minutes to take the lead. Andre Carter's interception of a pass from Thrasher set the Panthers up at the Majors' 21. But a fumble on the next play was recovered by the Majors, who ran the clock out.

After a week off, the Panthers host Greensboro in their USA South opener on Sept. 28.
