LAGRANGE, Ga. – Brandon Sewell returns to LaGrange College as the head coach of the men's lacrosse program in an announcement by the College this week.

"We are excited to welcome back Brandon Sewell to LaGrange College." LaGrange Vice President for Athletics Matthew Hayes said in a statement. "We look forward to his leadership and effort in rebuilding this program to level it was at when he left. He is a tremendous recruiter and will lead these young men with the values of LaGrange College. Lacrosse is an amazing sport to participate in at the collegiate level, while receiving a top education at LaGrange College."

"I'd like to thank Athletic Director Hayes and President Baxter for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to return." Coach Sewell said. "LaGrange has always held a special place in my heart, and I'm excited to come back and lead this program. I'm looking forward to building a culture of commitment and accountability while getting LaGrange Lacrosse back to being a competitive, winning program that our student-athletes, alumni, and campus community can be proud of."

Coach Sewell previously served as the head coach of the Panthers from their inaugural 2020 season through 2024. Overcoming the challenges of a new program amidst the restrictions of COVID, Sewell ultimately lead the team to back-to-back USA South Athletic Conference playoff appearances in the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Under Sewell's leadership, the Panthers saw eight players earn USA South All-Conference honors in four seasons. Isaac Bohrer was a two-time honoree, earning Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2023.

Sewell returned to his alma mater, Huntingdon College, after the 2024 season, where he coached the Hawks to back-to-back playoff appearances.

Prior to becoming the head coach at LaGrange in 2020, Sewell served as an assistant coach with the Huntingdon men's lacrosse program from 2017-2018, helping lead the Hawks to a conference championship in 2018. Sewell also previously served as the chief operating officer for the Southwest Lacrosse Company located in Ferrum, Virginia.

As a player for Huntingdon, Sewell was a four-year starter as a midfielder/face off for Huntingdon. He ranked first all-time for the Hawks in points, assists, ground balls, and face-offs won. Sewell was second in career goals scored and served as a team captain for three seasons. He ranked in the top 25 in the nation in ground balls per game for three straight seasons. Sewell graduated from Huntingdon with a degree in biology, and was inducted into the Huntingdon Athletic Hall of Fame in 2024.
