Nine Panthers from Football Make USA South All-Conference Honors

LAGRANGE, Ga. – A total of nine Panthers from the LaGrange College football team were voted to the 2025 USA South Athletic Conference All-Conference team in an announcement by the conference on Wednesday afternoon, this coming after a season that saw LaGrange win their first conference championship since 2008.

Six Panthers earned first team honors.

Senior defensive back Deon King Jr. (Vienna, Ga.) led the defense with 16 tackles-for-a-loss and 7.5 sacks this season, both team highs and
leading the conference in tackles-for-a-loss. King was named USA South Defensive Player of the Week earlier this season after a dominant performance over arch-rival Huntingdon College.

Senior cornerback Legend Doggett (McDonough, Ga.) leads the Panthers' secondary, with four interceptions and six pass breakups this season. Doggett earned a conference Defensive Player of the Week award a week ago against Belhaven and was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for his performance.

Junior offensive lineman Aaron Hunter (Dothan, Ala.) anchored a unit that led the USA South in fewest sacks allowed, ranking 15th in the NCAA. The Panthers led the conference in both rushing and total offense, all made possible by the work done by Hunter and the offensive line.

Sophomore linebacker Ched Smith (Macon, Ga.), last season's Defensive Rookie of the Year, led the Panthers with 61 tackles and leading the entire conference in solo tackles per game. Smith added 10.5 tackles for a loss with six sacks, an interception, three pass breakups, five quarterback hurries and two fumble recoveries.

Sophomore tight end Mychal Stillwell (Warner Robins, Ga.) got it done both in blocking and in pass-catching, finishing with 24 receptions for 301 yards and three touchdowns.

Freshman defensive lineman Zymarion Hudson (Cordele, Ga.) was a force on the defensive line all season for the Panthers, anchoring a defense that finished first in the USA South in virtually every major statistical category. The rookie finished with 38 tackles and 12.5 tackles for a loss to along with six sacks, totaling 59 yards. Hudson was also voted Defensive Rookie of the Year in the same release.

Junior quarterback Henry Brodnax (Newnan, Ga.) and junior running back Michael Hays (Jacksonville, Fla.) were both voted second team all-conference while junior linebacker Dezmond Jones (Thomasville, Ga.) earned Honorable Mention honors.

Senior defensive end Jaylan Harris (Birmingham, Ala.) was named to the Sportsmanship Team.

The 2025 season saw the Panthers of LaGrange enjoy their best season since 2008 as they went 9-1 overall and 7-0 in conference, winning the USA South Championship and clinching a spot in the NCAA Championship Tournament.

The Panthers travel to Framingham State University in Framingham, Massachusetts on Saturday for a 12:00 p.m. game in the first round of the NCAA Championships.
