LAGRANGE, Ga. – Freshman outside hitter
Alex Krabs (Boynton Beach, Fla.) of the LaGrange College women's volleyball team has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 5, 2025, in an announcement by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Krabs dominated at the Panthers' tri-match at Piedmont, delivering 16 kills and 17 digs against the Scots of Covenant College and forcing the match to five sets before LaGrange came up just short in a thriller. Then against the host Lions, she added nine kills and ten digs in a straight-set win. She finished the week averaging 3.13 kills and 3.38 digs per set, along with seven total blocks, to pace LaGrange on both sides of the net.
"Alex [Krabs] is a dynamic athlete that has worked hard to transition from being a middle blocker in high school to a top-level pin-hitter for our team." LaGrange head coach Dan Schulte said of his standout rookie. "What I'm most proud of Alex is her improvement over the past three weeks in her passing game, becoming the most proficient passer on the team."
For the season, Krabs is leading the Panthers in kills, points, kills per set, points per set and receiving percentage.
LaGrange is back on the court next Saturday when they play host to Maryville and Agnes Scott in a CCS tri-match.
