Damico Voted CCS Women’s Volleyball Setter of the Year

LAGRANGE, Ga. – Sophomore setter Julia Damico (North Port, Fla.) of the LaGrange College women's volleyball team was voted the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Setter of the Year in an announcement by the conference on Tuesday.

Damico led the Panthers with 645 set assists – ranking her first in the conference - while averaging 5.66 assists per set. She also posted a team-high 49 service aces and was second on the team with 3.05 digs per set. On October 25th, she reached 1000 career set assist milestone, the first LaGrange player to reach that mark since 2017. Damico would later be named the CCS Defensive Player of the Week for that week.

Damico was also voted to the CCS All-Conference team, earning first team honors.

Damico headlined a team that was originally picked to finish seventh in the CCS in the coaches' preseason poll. The Panthers far exceeded those expectations, as they went 10-6 in conference play, clinching the fourth seed in the tournament and hosting a quarterfinals match.

LaGrange is back on the court on Tuesday when they host Huntingdon in the CCS playoffs. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
