LAGRANGE, Ga. – Sophomore setter
Julia Damico (North Port, Fla.) of the LaGrange College women's volleyball team was named the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 26, 2025 in an announcement by the conference on Monday.
Damico led the Panthers to a 2-1 record for the week, with a five-set win at Huntingdon followed by a four set victory over Piedmont on Saturday at the Covenant tri-match. Damico averaged 4.43 digs pers set over 14 sets while averaging 4.93 assists per set with seven service aces.
During the first set against Piedmont with the score tied at 8-8, Damico posted a set that was finished off by senior middle-hitter
Zentrina Choice (Sumter, S.C.). The set assist gave Damico 1000 career assists in just her second season with the Panthers, becoming the first LaGrange player to reach that milestone since former LC great
Lauren Sanders (Class of 2019). Damico would finish that match with 30 set assists with three aces and a team-high 23 digs.
With a 9-5 record in CCS action, the Panthers are poised to claim the fourth spot in the upcoming conference playoffs.
LaGrange is back on the court on Saturday when they host Asbury and Wesleyan in a CCS tri-match.
