LAGRANGE, Ga. - Panther Men's Basketball (5-14, 1-6 Collegiate Conference of the South) hits the court this week against Belhaven University (15-3, 5-0 CCS), as the two clash for a conference bout in Mariotti Gym on Wednesday (Jan. 29).
The Matchup
The Panthers fell to the Huntingdon College Hawks on Saturday (Jan. 25), by a final score of 97-79 at home. LC tasted sweet victory the last time the Blazers visited Mariotti, besting them 73-70 on Jan. 24, 2024. After a tough 96-65 loss a few weeks ago in Jackson, Miss, however, LaGrange's efforts will be directly centered on exacting their revenge on Wednesday night.
As for the Blazers, a winning streak of 10 games has them soaring into this contest with a distinct sense of confidence. With two of their three losses this season coming on the road, however, they will have to weather the storm of a raucous Mariotti Gym crowd who will come out in full force to ensure their Panthers come out on top when it is all said and done on Wednesday night.
Players to Watch
Tyler Harrington led the team in scoring with 15 points in the Panthers' last matchup with Belhaven, tacking on three respective steals and rebounds in the process as well. The freshman guard out of Winter Park, Fl could be a key piece for LC's efforts as they look to tally their biggest win of the season.
The Blazers will look to CCS Player of the Week Jordan Marshall for support against LC. The Raymond, Miss product registered 50 points this past week against Asbury and Maryville, as he looks to continue the firepower against a very game LC squad.
