Box Score It was all Panthers all night in tonight's home CCS matchup against Covenant. LC comes away with a Friday night 82-70 win.
First half details
The Panthers began tonight's game going up 10-5 in the first four minutes. This was thanks to a pair of
Brodie Scott and
Kameron McCall threes. McCall was playing with his hair on fire tonight. It seemed like every time the freshman guard touched the ball he would score. Ten minutes into the half, LC led 30-15. This is when
Shaun Nichols stepped up and hit back-to-back contested layups. Throughout the season the three freshmen guards, Moss, Nichols and McCall have all proven how talented they each are. With five minutes left in the half, LC was up 37-17. Despite being down twenty, the Scots would continue to battle. Over the next two minutes, they would go on a small 10-3 run to cut the Panther lead to 40-27. LC would go into the half leading 44-31.
Kameron McCall had a team-high 14 points, shooting 66% from the field and 75% from three.Â
Second half details
The Scots continued their run going into the second half. Within four minutes, the visitors had cut the Panther lead to 49-38. Out of the media time-out,
Samuel Moss would show how athletic he is when he dunked over a defender closing in. Moss has done this multiple times this year and every time he does it the crowd goes crazy. Tonight, every time the Panthers would extend their lead to more than 15 the Scots would respond with a 5-6 point run. With under five minutes left in the game LC led 73-57. Moss would again show off his athleticism when he made a contested layup in which it seemed like he floated by his defender. The Panthers would hold on to win 82-70.
Top Panther performance
Kameron McCall had a great offensive performance. The freshman scored a team-high 18 points, shooting 60% from the field and 40% from three.Â
