Box Score With today's 92-68 loss to Maryville College, the LC Men's Basketball season comes to an end.
First half details
The Panthers started the CCS Semifinal firing on all cylinders. Four minutes into the game, LC took a 9-7 lead over the host Scots. This was thanks to a contested layup made by sophomore
Trenton Dillard. The game stayed neck and neck throughout the first half. With ten minutes remaining in the first, the Scots took a small 20-18 lead. The Panthers jumped back out in front, after sophomore
Brodie Scott made a three with a defender quickly closing in on him. Similarly to the last time these two teams met, tonight's matchup against the Scots was very physical. This style of play seemed to work in the tough Panther squad. At the break, the game was tied at 38.
Brodie Scott finished with a team-high eight points, shooting 100% on the floor. He also had four rebounds and two assists.Â
Second half details
The Scots scored the first point of the second half, which placed them in front of LC by two. Each team continued to trade points over the next few possessions. Maryville extended their lead to 51-46 by capitalizing on a Panther missed a free throw. The Scots continued this scoring run to go up 60-48 with under 14 remaining in the game. Maryville's contested shots just kept falling. With nine minutes left in the game, the Scots extended their lead to 71-56 after hitting a super deep three. The Panthers continued to fight, but the Scots were just too much to handle tonight. LC lost 92-68.
