Multiple Panthers earn CCS honors

The LC Men's Basketball Team finished with four players making CCS All-Conference Teams.

First Team
Freshman Samuel Moss is the lone Panther to be named to the CCS First Team. This season he averaged a team-high 17.5 points, shooting 47% from the field and 40% from three. In the 73-71 win over Belhaven (Jan. 24), the Sharpsburg, Ga secured a season-high 33 points to help the Panthers push past the Blazers. Making explosive moves past his defenders, stuffing opponents' shots and throwing down thunderous dunks, when Moss was on the court it was must-watch basketball.

Second Team
Another freshman Panther that had an outstanding season is Kameron McCall. In 25 games played, the Powder Springs, Ga. native averaged 12.3 points per game, shooting 42% from the field and 33% from three. When McCall was on the court, it felt like at any moment he could take over the game. The hot-handed guard scored a season-high 27 points in the 87-69 win against Berea (Feb. 3). Not only could McCall score, but his quick hands and high basketball IQ made him dangerous against anyone trying to go one-on-one with him. He had a season-high five steals in the matchup against the Hawks (Jan. 20).
Sophomore Brodie Scott is another Panther who had a phenomenal year. Through 27 games played, he averaged 10.4 points per game (up from 8.3), shooting 45% from the field and 31% from three. One thing that stats do not show is how hard Scott was willing to work. Consistently throughout the year, the guard from Athens, Ga. would create big-time Panther plays by outworking his defenders. Between his raw talent and work ethic, it is exciting to see how Scott will develop over the coming seasons.

Sportsmanship Team
Senior Grant Evans was named to the CCS Sportsmanship Team. The guard from Newnan, Ga. represents the culture of the LC Men's Basketball team to a tee. Whether the Panthers found themselves up ten or down ten, the players were always invested in cheering on their teammates. Evans was with the Panthers for three years and scored a season-high five points, shooting 100% on the floor (Jan. 6).
