First half details
Similarly to the previous two matchups against the Hawks, tonight's game was neck and neck from the very start. In the first five minutes, the game was tied at 10-10. The Panthers extended their lead to 19-14, thanks to back-to-back layups by Brodie Scott and Jace Herrell. LC continued to widen the gap after Trenton Dillard hit a contested layup on a Shaun Nichols assist. Dillard began the night on fire. In seven minutes of playing time, the sophomore guard had a team-high 10 points, shooting 83% on the floor. With five minutes remaining in the half, the Panthers were out in front 31-21. Through the remainder of the half, LC held a 12-17 point lead. At half, the Panthers were up 42-25. As a team, LC was forcing the Hawks to take contested shots, and it showed on the stat line. Through 20 minutes, the Hawks were hitting 25% from the field. On the other side of the court, the Panthers were taking smart shots and hitting 42% from the field. Trenton Dillard finished with a team-high 12 points, shooting an incredible 83% from the field.

Second half details
The Panthers came out in the second half continuing to play as a team. At the 14-minute mark, LC extended their lead to 53-39 when Brodie Scott found Parker Gonzalez with a great pass for him to hit a layup. The Hawks cut the Panthers lead to 54-44 after a LC turnover led to an open Huntingdon three. This forced a Panther time-out with under 11 to go. Over the next few minutes, the Hawks brought the Panthers' lead to 60-52 due to the Panthers shots struggling to fall. The shooting woes forced LC to call time-out with just seven left. Out of the break, the Panthers extended their lead to 70-59. LC would hold on to win 85-72. The Panthers showed great resilience tonight. Each time the Hawks would close the gap, LC would rise to the occasion.
