LAGRANGE, Ga. – No. 2/9 LaGrange (11-5, 0-0 CCS) baseball begins their pursuit of a sixth straight regular season title, this time in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS), as they head to Berea (3-13, 0-0 CCS) for a three-game series from March 18-19. First pitch of the doubleheader portion of the set is slated for 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 18 with the finale set for 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 19.
The Panthers come in having won five of their last seven, including a 20-3 demolition of Westfield (3/11), a 7-1 victory over Chicago (3/12) and most recently they picked apart Oglethorpe 8-2 on March 14. The Mountaineers, meanwhile, have dropped their last five with losses at Centre (14-7 on 3/7), Sewanee (11-4 on 3/8) and Manchester (13-5 and 2-1 on 3/11). In their most recent outing against Ohio Wesleyan they were on the wrong end of a 21-10 decision.
SERIES HISTORY
LaGrange holds a commanding 8-1 lead in the all-time series over Berea dating to the team's first meeting in 2018. They won the first four by a combined score of 53-8 before dropping an 10-8 decision in the middle game of a three-game series in 2019. Since then they have won the last four, including sweeping a series from March 19-20, 2022 by scores of 12-0, 14-2 and 21-9.
