Box Score LaGrange rallied from an early three-run hole to beat Berry 7-6 in a non-conference game Tuesday in Williamson Stadium at Cleaveland Field. The Panthers went over the .500 mark in improving their season record to 10-9 and avenged an opening day loss to the Vikings (8-7).
The Panthers had 12 hits off four Berry pitchers. Brandon Espinosa had three hits, while Brent Kinsey, Kyle Nerbonne and Keith Sims each had two. Kinsey had an RBI double included in his two hits.
Tyler Brooks (1-1) retired the last seven Viking batters to get the win. Patrick Riley started the game and was followed by Kenneth Strack and Henry Jacobs.

Berry came back with two runs in the second inning and two more in the third. The Panthers stayed within striking distance with a run in each of the second and third innings.
Nerbonne was hit by a pitch to start the second. With runners on the corners, Blake Schuck put down a sacrifice bunt as Nerbonne scored. In the third, Sims beat out an infield hit and moved over to third on back-to-back groundouts. Cody Muren brought in Sims with a single to deep short.
The Panthers took the lead with a three-run fourth inning. Espinosa and Schuck led off the inning with back-to-back singles and moved up on a sacrifice bunt. Espinosa scored as Sims reached on his second infield hit of the game.

Nerbonne hit a flare down the right field line with one out to get the Panthers going in their half of the seventh. Pinch-hitter Jim Reed bunted his way on and Espinosa's hit through the left side loaded the bases. Schuck grounded out to short as Nerbonne scored the go-ahead run.
Brooks made the lead stand up. He retired the Vikings in order in the eighth and ninth innings to get his first win of the season.
The Panthers play at Ferrum (Va.) in a three-game USA South series beginning Friday.
