Birmingham-Southern never trailed in the game. The host Panthers played everyone on the bench in the game, with 14 of the 17 scoring in the game. Jasen Jonus and Zac Richards led a balanced scoring attack with 12 points each, while Larry Thomas added 10.
Joey Anderkavich led LaGrange with a game-high 15 points. Denzel Robinson had 11 points, while Marcus Vaughn and Nick Mitchell had eight points each.
The Panthers were held to 34.6 percent shooting in the game, including just 4-of-19 shooting from 3-point range. Birmingham-Southern had a commanding 52-34 edge in rebounding. Richards completed his double-double for the host Panthers with a game-best 14 rebounds.
The Panthers play Emory in the Maryville College Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday. They finish the tournament Sunday against Oglethorpe. The Panthers defeated the Stormy Petrels 77-59 in the season opener Nov. 15.
