LAGRANGE, Ga. – Freshman
Ryheem Mighten (Kingston, Jamaica) of the LaGrange College men's track and field team has been awarded the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Track Rookie of the Week award for the week ending March 22
nd, 2026 in an announcement by the conference on Tuesday.
Mighten, who dominated for the Panthers during their indoor season earlier this semester, turned in a pair of competitive sprint performances at the Emory Spring Break Classic this past weekend. He posted a time of 10.67 in the 100-meter dash to finish 10th out of 24 competitors and added a 21.66 in the 200-meter dash, placing 11th among 116 runners.
Mighten is the first Panther ever to earn a CCS weekly award for his performance.
The team will head back to Emory this weekend for the Emory Thrills in the Hills competition.
