LAGRANGE, Ga. – The LaGrange College softball team is preparing for their 2026 season under fifth-year head coach
Melanie Rushing.
The Panthers are coming off a season that saw them go 8-8 against Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) opponents, their best league record since joining the CCS before the 2023 season.
Senior pitcher
Jenna Yeary (Loganville, Ga.) leads the pitching staff, having gone 9-6 with 51 strikeouts.
Sophomore utility
Cannon Ramsey (Tallahassee, Fla.) is expected to bring pop to the lineup as she had a team-high four home runs with a .312 batting average and 23 runs batted in last year while sophomore infielder
Kayla Helms (Dallas, Ga.) hit .317 with 30 RBI during the 2025 season.
Senior pitcher
Claire Chamberlain (Rome, Ga.) looks to produce for the Panthers on both sides. The senior hit .308 at the plate last year with 41 hits, 17 walks and 23 RBI, all while going 7-13 as a pitcher with 34 strikeouts.
The Panthers will look for a spark from a talented rookie class that includes freshman pitchers
Addison Gibboney (Kennesaw, Ga.) and
Bri Totty (Hurtsboro, Ala.) and freshman utility
Kamie Gibby (McDonough, Ga.).
The Panthers open their regular season on Saturday, February 21
st when they play host to Berry College in a 12:00 p.m. double-header at the LC Softball Complex. The team opens their CCS schedule on Friday, March 20
th when they host Covenant College in a 2:00 p.m. double-header.
