LAGRANGE, Ga. – The LaGrange College baseball team was victorious in their three-game series against 14
th-ranked Piedmont University, winning game two 8-7 in walk-off fashion in Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) action on Saturday afternoon at Cleaveland Field in Phil Williamson Stadium in LaGrange, Ga.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Panthers once again fell behind 3-0 in the top of the first, as the Lions got their bats going early.
- Seniors Curt Bonner (Cartersville, Ga.) and Jackson McElvy (Kennesaw, Ga.) got LaGrange on the board in the first and second innings as they each drove in a run to make it 3-2 Lions after two.
- Piedmont continued the offensive showcase as they went up 7-2 in the top of the third inning.
- The Panthers refused to quit, coming together for five runs in the next couple innings to tie it up 7-7 after five.
- In the bottom of the ninth inning with a man on third, senior Carson Burgamy (Woodstock, Ga.) stepped up to the plate. With an 0-1 count and the game on the line, Burgamy laid down the epic swing to send the entire Cleaveland Field crowd into a jubilant frenzy as he drove a sac-fly deep enough to bring home the game-winner and take the series over one of the nation's top teams in the Piedmont University Lions.
- Sophomore pitcher Josiah Chiesa (Dalton, Ga.) earned back-to-back victories for the Panthers as he helped secure the final outs in the top of the ninth inning.

- LaGrange and Piedmont are back on the field on Sunday when they face off in game three of the series. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. at Cleaveland Field in Phil Williamson Stadium.
