MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The LaGrange College softball team lost both ends of their double-header at 15th-ranked Huntingdon College in Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) action on Tuesday evening at Cannon Softball Field in Montgomery, Alabama.
GAME 1 – LAGRANGE 0, HUNTINGDON 4
- LaGrange sophomore designated player Kayla Helms (Dallas, Ga.) saved the Panthers from a no-hitter in game one with a single to right in the top of the second inning. Helms later picked up LaGrange's sole walk of the contest.
- LaGrange senior pitcher Claire Chamberlain (Rome, Ga.) allowed just four earned runs over six innings.
GAME 2 – LAGRANGE 1, HUNTINGDON 7
- Trailing 7-0 in the top of the seventh of game two, the Panthers' lineup finally came alive with back-to-back doubles from sophomore third baseman Cannon Ramsey (Tallahassee, Fla.) and freshman shortstop Kamie Gibby (McDonough, Ga.) as Gibby drove Ramsey in for LaGrange's first and only run of the game.
- Helms and freshman designated player Addison Gibboney (Kennesaw, Ga.) also finished with hits for the Panthers.
UP NEXT
- LaGrange is back on the field on Saturday when they play host to Asbury University in a critical CCS double-header.
