GAME 1 – LAGRANGE 5, BELHAVEN 6
- Senior Trystin Merson (Dallas, Ga.) took the mound and pitched seven masterful innings as LC enjoyed a five-run cushion heading into the eighth inning.
- The Blazers responded quickly, plating six in the eighth to spoil the shutout bid and put the Panthers in a do-or-die situation in the top of the ninth.
- Unfortunately for LaGrange, they couldn't muster anymore runs as they fell in heartbreaking fashion to lose the game and the series.
GAME 2 – LAGRANGE 6, BELHAVEN 7
- With a second chance to right the ship, the Red and Black put together another valiant effort in game two.
- The Panthers led 6-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth, but sadly would allow another crooked inning to derail their efforts.
- The host Blazers were unfortunately able to hold on in the final three innings as the good guys suffered just their second sweep of the season.
UP NEXT
- LaGrange is back on the field on April 17-19 when they host Piedmont University for a three-game series against the Lions. Saturday's game will feature the team's Alumni Day with all past and present Panthers being welcomed to join in on the festivities at Cleaveland Field in Williamson Stadium.
